Two Stars: We Didn’t Find Each Other
A poem and open letter about two people drawn toward each other.
A poem about two people being drawn toward each other goes…
I have to call you lost to say that we found each other.
When I met you, you knew exactly where you were and that it wasn’t where you want to be.
I discovered today I’m not where I want to be.
We’re not lost, so we didn’t find each other.
Stars have their own gravity.
You and I met in motion
Floating, traveling stars.
I’ve asked you twice:
Where did you come from?
And twice I realized my gravity brought you to me.
I want to hear your voice and see your face daily because of your gravity’s pull on me.
I’m OK with that. Let’s lean in.
