Diamonds, Pressure, and Lovers [poem]

The beauty in a diamond isn’t the result. It’s in the process.

Two lovers began to build a prosperous and peaceful life together –
a family overflowing with love and benevolence,
a life of peace and abundance for themselves,
for their children,
for the generations that follow.

Shouldn’t trials and dark times come to test our lovers’ resolve?
Test their resilience?

Shouldn’t enemies of joy sharpen their tools
and run to disrupt that love?

Shouldn’t forces devoid of love in their hearts pursue every method of destruction
and sabotage?
Every method within their reach?

Shouldn’t weaker minds find enthusiastic motivation to bring lower the vibrations of higher minds?

Shouldn’t our lovers expect this opposition,
this pressure while building a strong, meaningful bond together?
A bond that’s inspiring to watch develop,
a bond the lovers are proud to see shine,
a bond strong enough to cut glass and stone.
A diamond.
